NYSC in a statement in Abuja, meanwhile, called on Taraba State
Government to come to the aid of those who lost valuable belongings in
the incident.
The scheme appealed to parents of the victims to
see the robbery incident as an isolated case, that should not be taken
as security threat, while calling on the Police authorities in the state
to fish out the perpetrators.
The statement said, “NYSC management wishes to appeal to the Taraba State Government, which sits in locus parentis
for the corps members serving in the state to take steps towards
alleviating the suffering of those who lost valuable belongings in the
incident. Taraba State Police Command is also urged to expedite action
towards fishing out the perpetrators of this dastardly act and to make
them to face the full wrath of the law.
“Management also appeals
to the parents of the corps members to see the incident as an isolated
case of brigandage, which should not be taken as a security breach. On
its part, the NYSC will continue to work with relevant stakeholders to
ensure the continued protection of corps members nationwide”.
